I was at a public event, possibly even a wedding reception or even an award show type of thing... Willie Nelson was going from table to table, saying hello to all the guests. I was at a table with my wife, my aunt and uncle, and my grandpa. Between all of us, we had 5 cameras. I was getting my wife to take a shot of me, my grandpa, and Willie. Camera 1. Batteries dead. Camera 2. Full memory card. Camera 3 (cellphone) not enough light for a good photo - blurry and dark. Same with camera 4. Camera 5 wouldn't let you take a picture... the zoom mechanism would open halfway and jam.
5 cameras. About 2 minutes of trying to get a photo. Willie was being good natured but my grandpa was getting a little impatient. I was getting quite frustrated but we just had to say, "Nice meeting you Willie!" and he walked away.
I really wanted the photo!
Now, the thing is, I think Willie wasn't just supposed to be Willie. I think he represents something. And I think my grandpa might represent something as well.
Maybe Willie is the music industry and my grandpa is family, and the meaning is "trying to blend a music career and family just won't work!"
Maybe the meaning is "if you have an opportunity to take a shot at something cool, you should come better prepared!"
Maybe it's "your grandpa doesn't even like Willie, and he sabotaged the cameras!"
Maybe it's because I've been thinking of buying a professional camera lately...
