Got a bunch of CDs... 6 for Shanda, 1 for both of us, 2 for me. :) In the list: Maroon 5's new one, Fergie, KT Tunstall, Carrie Underwood, Dixie Chicks, Kelly Clarkson, Silverchair's new one, Mariana's Trench, and My Chemical Romance. Shanda didn't ask for Fergie but I'm a firm believer in padding any CD collection with the bubble-gummiest songs once in a while - for research.
My mom recommended this restaurant. It's on Spring Garden Road and is a nice Italian restaurant. il Mercato.
The waiter recommended a wine that I was actually surprised that I enjoyed. $8.50 for the class which I now know is about right for an okay glass of wine in a restaurant (thanks to my friend Kev's blog about wine markup. I was expecting something flat and mediocre at best. What I got was a wine with some actual depth - caramel, cigar, and chocolate notes in the nose. Pepper and mild cigar in the actual flavour. Every sip was enjoyable!
Do I look like I know what I'm talking about?
The 9 piece antipasti. The salmon (bottom left-ish thingy) was freakin awesome. I know prosciutto is served with melon often but in this case the melon did nothing for me - so I ate them separately. Those things stacked up there are pickled palm hearts. I was hoping for more raw meat and cheese for the antipasti but these selections were still very very good and I highly recommend it. $12.95.
For the main course we shared a seafood jumbo (not what it was called, but what it was). Scallops, jumbo shrimp, halibut, and salmon fried with peppers, onion, and tomatoes, served with fresh veggies (beans, baby carrots, baby potatoes) on the side. We were too full for dessert.

Cool post. Nice platter - looks like someone spends a lot of time putting that together. It looks like 'cicheti'[sp] platter - snack foods...kinda tapas-ish. And your expectations were justified - in Tuscany antipasti is primarily meats and cheeses with some olives, maybe some fruit.
Glad you're posting often!
