Family Guy vs. Simpsons

As an avid Simpsons fans for most of my whole life, most of my friends know that I'm one of those guys that has a Simpsons quote for every situation. Yes, I'm one of those guys.

But in recent years, they've been noticing that the Simpsons quotes are fewer and the Family Guy quotes are plenty. And I think this sums up my current opinion.

I think without The Simpsons, there would be no Family Guy, so I have to give Best All Time Favourite to The Simpsons. But the new Simpsons aren't really as funny as Family Guy, so I have to give Family Guy the Best New Animated Series That Is Funnier Than The Simpsons award.

I love The Simpsons, but I love Family Guy more. I never saw this day coming. There was a time when I could see myself growing old with The Simpsons and bringing seasons 3-8 to a deserted island, but now I'd be happy with season 4 of Family Guy alone. Although season 5 has some great moments that I can't wait to get on DVD.

Anyway, to all the Simpsons and Family Guy writers, thank you for hours of fun. Keep it up. Don't get stale. And keep challenging the FCC.
