What I'm sick of, but also getting better at all the time.

Self promotion.

If you ask anyone that knows me, they'd probably tell you I'm a constant talker and usually not shy to talk about myself. That said, I'm really only like that around people I feel comfortable with. I was raised to be confident, but not to brag. My wife hates braggarts so I definitely don't get away with it with her!

But recently I've noticed that in order to get ahead in life, sometimes you have to speak up about what you're good at, what you're passionate about, and what you'd like to try.

Every day in the music industry is like a job interview, where you need to justify why you deserve a shot. When you're trying to get signed to a major label, it can be more about hype than the actual music. Can you blame the labels for that? Hype sells records. You need to name-drop and say who said what about which of your songs... It's too bad but it's a reality.

Anyway, I feel like airplay is like someone doing the bragging for you. You don't have to say your music is good. Someone thinks it is, that's why they're playing it.

My daughter has been crying for too long now - must finish thoughts later. Cheers.
